My interest in photography started just after high school. Like so many others, I was drawn to the power of the black and white images of Ansel Adams. My first camera was a Vivitar 220SL and thus began my visual journey. However, it was not until I enlisted into the Navy and attended the Naval School of Photography that I began to understand the mechanics and artistry of photography. Being exposed to several different camera formats and darkroom techniques opened my eyes to the limitless possibilities that photography had to offer.

Photography continues to teach me to look beyond the surface of my surroundings and how natural light can create drama and emotion. While I do not limit myself to any particular subject matter, my goal is to create images shot from a unique perspective. The other lesson I have learned is that I do not have to travel far to find captivating subjects and compositions. It is my hope that my images will inspire you to take a new look at your world and see it in another light.
